The International Gemology Association (IGA), is an approached worldwide organization specifically formed to benefit the Gemological industry.
It has a concept of world wide network to develop a common language for promotion and consistent standards necessary to improve international communication.
IGA provides direct access to the source for Gemstones and related information.IGA has given our industry just such an environment and the Association has worked diligently to accomplish its objectives:
· TO ADDRESS TECHNICAL AND PROMOTIONAL ISSUES RELATED TO THE INDUSTRY.
· TO RESEARCH FOR SCIENTIFIC SOLUTIONS TO PROBLEMS INVOLVING PRECIOUS STONES.
· TO ESTABLISH INTERNATIONAL COMMUNICATION BETWEEN THE RESEARCHERS, PROFESSIONALS & TRADERS.
· TO WORK WITH RELATED ORGANIZATIONS TO STANDARDIZE RULES AND NOMENCLATURE.
· TO PUBLISH JOURNALS THAT INCLUDES ORIGINAL RESEARCH AND MINING, LAPIDARY, MARKETING AND PROMOTION.
· TO MAINTAIN AND PERPETUATE ETHICAL STANDARDS AMONG MEMBERS.
· TO BE THE AUTHORITY TO THE WORLD ON ANY SUBJECT INVOLVING COLORED GEMSTONES.
